Jonathan
Levy
Chief Executive Officer
Jonathan Levy, Source Language Solutions' co-founder and CEO, has
domestic and international experience spanning public and private
sectors. Among other accomplishments, Mr. Levy has created a model
for improved DOD interpreter performance metrics, written on the
need for a multi-agency approach to address the language service
challenge, produced and administered multiple interpreter training
and testing programs, and consulted with city and county agencies
about adequately meeting the needs of non-English speakers.
As the former Assistant Director for the University of Arizona’s
National Center for Interpretation, Mr. Levy oversaw the creation
and implementation of multiple state and federal interpreter testing
and training programs and co-directed the Professional Language
Development Project, a highly successful program to train bilingual
secondary students in interpretation and translation. In Tucson
Mr. Levy has worked closely with local refugee populations and served
on the Pima County Emergency Planning and Preparedness team representing
the needs of limited-English proficient populations. In 2006, he
began co-producing Somali Tucson Television to help recently arrived
Somalis adjust to life in the United States.
Mr. Levy’s graduate work focused on cross-border education and he
holds a master’s degree from the University of Arizona in Cultural
Studies and Comparative Literature, and a Bachelor’s degree from
the University of Chicago in Asian and African history.
Armando
Valles
Chief Operating Officer
Armando is Source Language Solutions' co-founder and COO. He has
worked at the University of Arizona's National Center for Interpretation
Testing, Research, and Policy for over five years as a research
specialist. During this time he has overseen the administration
of multiple interpreter testing and training programs as well as
conducted on-site research of interpreted events in hospitals and
elsewhere. During his time at the university, he has come to thoroughly
understand the field of interpretation as well as the administrative
systems best suited to provide quality interpreter services. Armando,
originally from Cananea, Mexico, holds a master's degree in Quality
Engineering from the University of Arizona.
Josh Pope
Chief Information Officer
Josh has worked in the geographical information system industry
(GIS) for over eight years. Over five years of this experience has
been working with public entities and private sector clients as
a GIS specialist in engineering and planning consulting firms. In
this environment he has worked with education specialists, air force
base officials, estuarine researchers, civil engineers, economic
development departments, attorneys and numerous federal, state,
a local government agencies in compiling, analyzing, and presenting
geographic datasets. Josh has a bachelor of sciences degree in geography
from the University of Louisville.
